Fall Gardening Season

Tips for the Autumn Gardener

  1. The planting season is not over. Fall is an opportune time to hire a landscaper to plant evergreens, shrubs, and create your future paradise garden now!  It’s also a great time to find items at the show at discount prices!
  2. Another tip is to make good use of all those leaves and rake them up to use for compost.
  3. Remember! Before the ground freezes plant your tulips for spring blooms but be sure to give them enough time to lay down some roots before the ground becomes too hard.
  4. The end of the summer does not have to signal the end of fresh herbs. Some herbs such as rosemary, parsley and thyme can still thrive indoors in a sunny location.
  5. Dig up your tender bulbs like dahlias and store in a cool dark place for the winter.
  6. Prune deciduous Trees and shrubs
  7. This is also the perfect time to do repairs to your out door living spaces. Take this opportunity to hire a handy person to remove dead or diseased plants, repair fences or just to tidy up the space before snow fall.
