Fall Gardening Season
Tips for the Autumn Gardener
- The planting season is not over. Fall is an opportune time to hire a landscaper to plant evergreens, shrubs, and create your future paradise garden now! It’s also a great time to find items at the show at discount prices!
- Another tip is to make good use of all those leaves and rake them up to use for compost.
- Remember! Before the ground freezes plant your tulips for spring blooms but be sure to give them enough time to lay down some roots before the ground becomes too hard.
- The end of the summer does not have to signal the end of fresh herbs. Some herbs such as rosemary, parsley and thyme can still thrive indoors in a sunny location.
- Dig up your tender bulbs like dahlias and store in a cool dark place for the winter.
- Prune deciduous Trees and shrubs
- This is also the perfect time to do repairs to your out door living spaces. Take this opportunity to hire a handy person to remove dead or diseased plants, repair fences or just to tidy up the space before snow fall.
